Easter Weekend

We have had a beautiful, perfect-weather, action-packed Easter weekend.  The boys have eaten their body weight in candy, their faces show the sunshine they played in all weekend, and they're about to completely collapse from exhaustion.... a great combination!

Here's just a fun pic I made to show my Easter "mantle" area, the eggs we dyed, and the boys' baskets:

Normally, we go to my parent's side of town to do the Regis egg hunt.  Since my parents are still in CA with Laura, we tried the Platt Park egg hunt located exacly 1.5 blocks from our house.  It was so much fun!  The weather was seriously perfect, we saw lots of neighbor friends, and the eggs lasted much longer than the 25 seconds it takes the Regis kids to clear the quad :)

George is tough to photograph during his egg-hunting.  He is like a blur.  I know he looks grumpy in this second one, but he wasn't, I just think it's a good picture of our handsome boy.

Gus counted his eggs for me.  It sounded something like this, "Boo, ga, fut, ga..." There is nothing even close to comprehensible in his counting, but it's entertaining.

The boys were pretty excited this morning with their loot from the Easter Bunny.

The Rescue Bot was the big hit...

After church today, St. Elizabeth's had their annual egg hunt.  I could not get a good picture of the boys together to save my life... oh well!

We spent the afternoon in Castle Rock at Shane & Rhonda's new house.  The boys had a blast, especially George.  He loves everything about Luke!

It's been a great weekend and a great end to our Spring Break.  Luckily, the boys and I get tomorrow off as well to recover from our busy weekend.  Happy Easter everyone!

Spring Break

Our Spring Break started off with a big snowstorm last weekend...

and by Wednesday it was nice enough to dig in the dirt with your brother :)

If you want to learn how to use an excavator, you've come to the right place.

Look - photographic proof that they like each other!!!

Throwing snowballs at our garage scoreboard...
This morning, the boys both slept in until 7:30. I can't stress enough how rare and incredibly fabulous this was!! Once we were all up and going, it was time to dye some Easter eggs.

By the way, these bunny-shaped egg dippers were awesome :)

We have a busy day tomorrow with the Platt Park egg hunt and a birthday party for George's BFF from preschool.  It should be another warm spring day!

iPhone photos

Blogging has taken a backseat to the rest of my life... and I know a lot of people who read this are on Facebook, where I post a bunch, but I know some people still rely on this blog to check in on our family. Here are some random pictures from my phone from the last couple months. I actually took out my real camera this week and have taken several pics of the boys and I hope to take some all week and Easter as well for a real honest-to-goodness update. For now, we're enjoying spring break and the beautiful Denver weather today.

This one is a picture of Gus and me at exactly 7:35 pm on January 31st... his second birthday.

George in the bathtub...

In February, I visited my sister in San Jose and fell in love with her adorable dog, Fraser.  He's seriously so cute.

Um, this picture is hilarious.  On my phone you can't tell how much we tried to take out the red-eye.  Hilarious!

George's art project that we bought for $25 at his school's fundraiser.  They're brilliant.  What parent could say no to this?!

We got a TON of snow on Saturday... today is Wednesday and it's pretty much gone except in the shady parts.

I spent Monday completely by myself and made holiday-themed frames.  It was lovely.
