Work Zone

Our neighborhood has been a construction zone all summer, much to the delight of our 1 1/2 year-old boy! There hasn't been a single day that we haven't seen multiple backhoe loaders, concrete mixers, or skid steers on our block working on the water system in the neighborhood. Also, the house next door was purchased a couple months ago and the investors gutted the whole thing and are fixing it up - including the front yard where this skid steer hangs out. After the workers are gone for the day, Sean and George usually head over to check it all out. Last night, our pantsless boy decided if he couldn't drive the skid steer himself, the next best thing would be to bring his digger over and dig right next to one.Needless to say, a bath was in order afterwards. You know your toddler has had a fun summer day when the bath water is a little muddy as soon as they get in...

An Action-Packed Weekend

George and I were on our own this weekend since Sean went for a guys weekend in Illinois with his high school friends. Luckily, there was lots to keep up busy all weekend! On Friday night, we went over to Platt Park for the big neighborhood picnic. This ice cream cone was the only thing that could get George to sit down on our blanket and eat so he didn't really "get" the picnic part of it. About 15 seconds after these pictures were taken, he threw a plastic truck at his friend's head and we had to pack up and leave. Sheesh, this kid! One day a picnic like this will be enjoyable again, right?!

Here he is walking around the picnic with his favorite toddler on Earth: our neighbor Abby. They love to walk around holding hands and Abby has even planted a couple kisses on George - they are seriously so cute together! We're so sad that Abby and her parents are moving next week :( They aren't going too far, but it won't be the same without them around the corner!

Yesterday, George got to spend the whole day with my parents. I spent the morning at school setting up the classroom some more, then my aunt Anne, Shane, Rhonda, and Luke came over for dinner.

If Abby is George's favorite toddler, Luke is his favorite 6 year-old. He loves to follow him around and play with him, and Luke is so patient and enjoys being with George, too.

Then today, George and I headed up to Longmont for Katy and Tim's summer BBQ. I forgot my camera, but it was a fun afternoon as well! I'm so excited for Sean to get home tomorrow - I know George is, too!

The Naked Olympics

George was quite the goofball tonight - running around the backyard with no clothes on and loving it! Here are some of the highlights (many pictures were left out due to their graphic nature):
NAKED WATER TABLE BALANCING:NAKED PUDDLE-JUMPING:NAKED SOCCER:NAKED GYMNASTICS: The little girls across the street tried to show George how to do a somersault last night. He watched them in complete amazement and gave them each about 3 hugs, 4 high-fives, and a couple fist-bumps when he had to go home. They are his new favorite people :)NAKED PEEKING INTO THE NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE: Don't worry, Sean has shorts on! They are completely remodeling the house next door and Sean likes to check in on their progress, especially since they're finishing the basement.
