Channeling Violet Beauregarde

She's the girl who turned into a blueberry in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...Here's our little blueberry... If you click on the picture to get a larger view, you'll also notice he has cereal on his arm and mystery green food stuck to his bib from a previous meal. Where is this kid's mother?!
But he is seriously cute, I just have to say it.

Babysitting the Crists

Last night Sean and I went over to babysit the Crists while Kelly and Joe went out to celebrate Joe's 40th birthday. All the kids were so good - the triplets seemed to understand that Sean and I were a little unsure of all their routines, especially at bedtime, and they were a such a big help. When I put them in their beds, I would hold up a binkie or a blanket and ask, "Whose is this? Ryan, is it yours?" And Ryan would shake his head and I'd move onto the next one. They were so darn cute! After the triplets went to bed, Sean took George home to go to bed and J.P. and I played Wii (he beat me at every game we played!).
The kids all loved reading books (noticeably missing: my own son, off somewhere playing with cool new toys)

Our Fun Houseguests

Our very good friends, the Olmsteads, are here in town for a quick visit. Zack and I have known each other since birth. I am 18 days older than Zack, and George is 18 days older than Micah, Zack and Jill's son. How crazy is that?! Anyway, George and Micah are having a good time being roommates for a few days. Yesterday was a little hard on George since he had to share his toys with Micah all day (GASP!). But in between G's temper tantrums, there have been some pretty cute moments.
The boys playing right away in their PJs...Making us dinner...Checking out the fun stuff through the window...George's new obsession is the sign for "hurt." He has the world's smallest scab on his toe from dropping something on it last week and he "talks" about it all day long. Here he is making Jill feel sorry for him. He takes off his sock, points to the owwie, and signs "hurt" over and over. He is such a drama queen but it is so funny! Here's my mom, her BFF, and their cute grandsons at dinner last night...
My dad playing peek-a-boo with George. You can see they both had a lot of fun...Ah, the obligatory bath shots that they will hate us for when they grow up!
George helped Micah out by washing his hair :)
It really is cute to see the two of them interact. Today George seems to be more tolerable about Micah playing with his toys, so it's much more pleasant for all of us. The Olmsteads will be back to stay with us again in a couple weeks for a family wedding - now that the boys have had a warm-up, they should be old pals by then!

Be My Valentine

Yesterday we were invited up to our friend Holland's house to have a Valentine's Day play date. Holland had so many fun crafts for the kids to do - too bad George has the attention span of a 16 month-old and didn't stay focused too long on the craft. He did manage to get one Valentine made for his dad. There were originally some painted heart stamps before our little Monet decided to smear them up a bit and put some stickers in the middles. I think it's still pretty good! Here's the gang working on their Valentine's...
Here's a pic of James and George in their holiday red... At this point George was so tired he could barely keep his poor little eyes open. He passed out within a couple blocks of Holland's house. Have a happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Goofball

Here are a few new pictures of George doing what he does best: making us smile. Here he is trying out the Emerson's bike trailer with his dad and Pa. It was a little cold so he had to be pretty bundled...His new favorite thing: playing in the sink. Notice the water going up his sleeve all the way to his waist! If only he was really doing the dishes...Bathtime goofball!Going out for a walk in his boots...This is George with the triplets and J.P. They are all getting so big!
