Halloween Fun

Yesterday began our fun weekend packed with Halloween events and family. We started the day doing the Trick-or-Treat Street down Tennyson near my parents' house that we did last year. I'm pretty sure George's digger costume was one of the top 3 costumes we saw - one guy walking around even gave George a dollar since he didn't have any candy, just because he loved the costume so much! Sean made it all himself - I think he did such an amazing job! Here are a bunch of pictures from our morning walk:

He got a little tired of walking at one point and the wagon worked pretty well...Checking out the witch (check out my growing baby bump!)Then last night we had a great celebration for my parents. My dad retired from the UP after 40 years and my mom turned 60! Since it was also Halloween, everyone dressed up in railroad attire. My baby belly worked out well - some people thought I had stuffed my shirt to make myself look more "authentic" as a railroader :) Three of my mom's sisters came out for the trip (Anne E. isn't in the picture, boo) but they are always a riot and so much fun to have around!

Sean said that railroader clothing is about as comfortable as it gets. I think he looked pretty dang good!

Tonight we have our neighborhood Halloween party with a bunch of 2 year olds, so that should be a lot of fun. I'll post some more pics tomorrow!

Our Little Gymnast

I signed George up for some gymnastics classes at our local recreation center. The first class was yesterday and George did pretty well. Most of the kids had been in the first session (which we were not) so they knew what to expect and how things work. George looked a little lost at times and was terrified of the teacher helping him do anything, but when it was time to just explore all the equipment on his own, he had a lot of fun. Um, a trampoline? He couldn't get enough!

This is one of the stations the teacher tried to help him do a flip around the bar. George just slowly stepped backwards away from the teacher quietly saying no. After she left to do something else, he ran up and played on it himself.

Trying out the climbing stuff... I'm thinking that next week he'll feel a little more comfortable :)

Here's a quick update on the baby since I feel like this kid gets no attention compared to how much I wrote about being pregnant with G :) I had my 24 week appointment this morning and the baby is looking/sounding good. We had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago and had to spend an afternoon at the hospital to make sure everything was okay, so I was very relieved to hear the doctor say that the baby seems to be doing great. He/she has gotten so much stronger the past few weeks and his/her kicks can be pretty powerful :) It's such an amazing feeling when the baby moves around in there, it puts a smile on my face every time. At parent-teacher conferences last week, a parent asked when I was due. When I told her early February, she said, "Oh, that's soon." And I realized that it really isn't that far away! In just 3.5 months there will be a whole new person in our lives - all three of us are so excited!

Fall is Here!

This morning we went to a fun Pumpkin Festival here in Denver and George had a great time. I'm pretty sure every 2 year-old in the metro area was there, but it didn't feel too crowded and all the kids were having so much fun. Here are a bunch of pictures of our adventures:

They had a bunch of pioneer toys to play with...There were a bunch of stagecoaches and hay rides always going by. That was the one thing we didn't do because the line was super long. Panning for gold...Right before he almost fell in. Only a little bit of his pants got wet :)Jumping in the hay with Sean... He seriously loved playing in the hay. Instead of napping right now, we can hear him in his bed just saying "hay" over and over.
