Five Months Old!

I have a ton of pictures from our California trip to go through and blog about, but since Gus' 5 month birthday is time sensitive, he got priority :) I feel like Gus went from being a new baby to a big baby this month with all his accomplishments and discoveries. Just nursing him and finding him a comfortable bouncy seat are no longer enough to keep him happy - he wants and needs to be entertained now. All the baby toys are out and used throughout the day, the exersaucer is in full swing, and everything he gets his hands on goes right into his mouth. Some of his big baby accomplishments this month include: rolling over, grabbing his feet (and sucking on them), sitting up for short times, blowing raspberries, and full-on laughter. He has yet to come anywhere near sleeping through the night still, but I guess that's just how it will be. Most of the time, I actually don't mind getting up with him. We get to rock in the glider and cuddle together in the peace and quiet of the dark house instead of the usual chaos we're both used to during the day.
This month also marked the beginning of the "don't leave my sight" phase. He hates it when I leave the room while putting away laundry or to get something for George.

I love this baby so stinking much, I just can't believe it (just like I love his brother)!

Fathers Day 2011

Isn't this exactly what Father's Day is all about? And of course, a father and his sons...Wearing his daddy's hat...
With my dad, setting the bar at the very top for all other dads out there. Sean is right up there, too. Our boys are so in love with him and I know their relationships will be so wonderful as they continue to grow.Father's Day is for Bumpas too...
I know that Sean loves his boys to pieces and they are crazy about him. It makes me so happy to see them all together!

Gus' Buddies

Yesterday I had my great friends from Swanson come over with all their sweet babies. Although Swanson was a tough school to be at from time to time, the friends I've made there are some of my very closest. All 5 of us had babies within about 6 months of each other, and almost all boys :) Katy made each of the boys a matching shirt, and sweet Stella Blue got to be the pretty little lady in the middle! The new generation of the Rat Pack... Timothy, Mac, Gus, and Mark. George looked at the boys and asked, "Which one is Gus?"Gus and Mac got a little fed up with the photo shoot...Feeling better.... With baby Mark, born about 6 weeks after Gus...
And not to leave out the wild child of the family, here's George showing off his latest (somewhat dangerous) skill: the bed headstand...
No hands!!

Hammock Time

Sean decided he wanted a hammock for Father's Day, so he ordered one for himself and it's already here - easy shopping for me! He set it up tonight and gave it a try. All the O'Reilly boys loved it, as you can see...

Here are a few hilarious pictures of what happens when a two year-old tries to get into a hammock by himself :)

My Two Favorite Boys

This afternoon we went to a birthday party for our friends' triplets who turned one. They were so stinking cute, I couldn't believe it, and it was a big celebration including a bouncy castle and three cakes. George took a couple dips in the baby pool and got soaking wet and I didn't have a spare outfit for him. I did have Gus' baby blanket so I fashioned a pretty awesome toga for him to wear for the rest of the party :) I didn't have my camera there, but I took a few pictures after we got home...
George was very excited to sing all his favorite songs to our friend Casey. This one is "So Long, Farewell," can't you tell by the emotional wave? Getting ready to really put on a show...
The hills are alive... (picture Julie Andrews spinning in a beautiful meadow in Austria)
This was just a funny picture I took of George's digging area in our backyard. He loves those trucks!
And here are just some random cute pictures of Gus being Gus...
