28 Weeks

Here I am at 28 weeks...

I'm still feeling really good, no real complaints so far... knock on wood. Although it was really hard to paint my toenails yesterday! Today Sean and I went to Castle Rock to pick up a bunch of baby stuff from the Emersons - I can't believe what good stuff we got from them! They have loaned us a car seat, stroller, bouncy seats, high chair, baby bath, crib mattress, bedding, pack and play, and lots of clothes! I went through the clothes already and separated what could be boy or girl clothing from the obviously boy. We have two big Rubbermaid tubs full of clothes for whatever Baby O'Reilly turns out to be thanks to them (from 0-6 months, we didn't even take the larger sizes yet). And if we have a boy, that kid is set on clothing! THANK YOU SO MUCH EMERSONS!!

Congratulations to my mom who walked in her two day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer up in the mountains this weekend. She did a lot of training and raised a lot of money for such a good cause - way to go Kath-Dogg!

Sean and I are headed up to Breckenridge for 4 days this week, it should be nice and relaxing (Leo will be staying at Doggie Day Care). Happy Fourth of July!

Tie Dye Extravaganza

Yesterday my mom and Katy came over to help me tie dye a bunch of onesies - I think they turned out pretty cute!
My next step is to sew on a patch of fabric onto some of them, either on the front or the butt. (Thanks to Katy's sister for this idea, I'm totally copying it) Here are some examples of what they should look like when they're done.

As you can see, we're not big into the pink only for girls and blue only for boys thing. I think either one will look so cute in any of these colors, although I think I'll give the raspberry one to Laura's friend who's having a girl, it's the most girly one I think we made.

No new pictures of me, we were camping this weekend and forgot to take my 27 week photo. Sean says that just yesterday he thinks my belly grew from the morning to night! We'll update this weekend with 28 week pictures.

Start of Summer = Start of 3rd Trimester

I've known all along that the last third of my pregnancy would be during the heat of summer. Luckily, it hasn't been that hot here yet but it's getting there and my belly is going to be getting bigger with every day! I think I'll try out my very fashionable maternity swimsuit next week at the pool. As you can see, the suit has quite a bit of belly to cover!

I'm feeling very good right now, summer school is the perfect amount of work. It's three hours a day so it gives me something to do but I have all afternoon off. The little kids there love to point to be belly and say, "Is there a baby in there?" The baby moves around quite a bit at night, I'm trying to video tape it to post on the blog because now you can just watch my belly move around with each kick and jab. It's pretty funny to watch!

I went over a couple times this week to help Kelly feed the triplets for their afternoon feeding. It's going to be nice practice for me to change their diapers and figure out how to burp a newborn effectively. They are so cute and I love visiting them!

Here's a picture of Sean working on our stairway to the basement. He had to cut into the office closet to make more head room going downstairs. He doesn't get enough air time on this blog so I wanted to show how hard he's been working!

24 Weeks - A New Haircut

I don't have a lot of news to report, so I thought I'd include a photo of my new haircut. I cut off 8 inches and donated the hair to Pantene Ultimate Lengths Campaign which makes wigs for women with breast cancer.

It feels so good to have short hair again - that was the longest it's been in a long time. As for baby news, nothing really new to report. I've gained 20 pounds (this picture makes it look like more, I think it's just the shirt that makes me look giant in this pic) but I'm ok with it, as long as it doesn't become the 63 my mom gained with me! The baby moves around so much now, it's little kicks are getting stronger and stronger by the week. I have my last appointment with Kaiser this week and then next month we'll start to see the midwife. Hopefully things keep going smoothly, I'm feeling really good! I plan to use my summer break to get ready for all things baby starting with a onesie dying extravaganza that I want to start this week. I'll see how they turn out - in my mind they're perfect!

Here's a picture of Leo from last weekend in Platteville where we stayed with our friends Adam and Karla. I like this picture because it shows that Leo can control himself around other dogs if he's just given 2 days of continuous running and swimming to tire himself out.
