Our Sunny Day

You lucky blog readers get two posts in one day! It was a perfect day here in Denver and we got to go for a nice walk with Katy and Michelle and their babies. I thought I'd share a few quick pictures of G trying out some new playground equipment:

A Tale of Two Georges

Today started off being super-warm and I thought G could wear some of the cute shorts from Luke Emerson. You can also see that he's starting to stand with assistance by the couch for very brief periods of time. He also tried out his new mesh feeder this morning... he loves it! I put a piece of banana in there and he sucked on it for quite a while. Then later, we met up with our new friends from the neighborhood, Lindsay and George! They live very close to us and her George was born just two days before ours! We took the boys to Wash Park today for a walk and some swinging. This is the closest picture I could get of both boys, I didn't want to freak out our new friend by taking lots of pictures of her baby :) This George is so cute and I love that they live so close. Lindsay and I have a lot in common so I'm really glad we met and I look forward to the Georges playing together as they grow up!

Seven Months Old!

I can't believe I'm writing that G is seven months already - this month has definitely gone by the fastest. I'm not sure why, but time really flew from 6 months to 7.

Here's all the latest with George:

• He has started to show hints of crawling. He can get on his hands and knees and rock back and forth but he has no idea what else to do while in that position. He usually gets frustrated or tired and lays his head down with his butt still in the air.
• He loves to eat! We have tried lots of yummy foods this month and he has approved of them all: avocado, banana, yogurt, and pears. He has cereal in the morning and then a "real" food in the afternoon.
• He wants to put everything in his mouth. For a couple days, he was madly in love with playing with a cottage cheese container. At Kelly and Joe's last week, he tried a "puff" snack but much preferred to chew on the lid of the container.
• He loves to sleep on his tummy. Although I was a little nervous at first, Sean's sister, Erin (a pediatrician), assured me that since he gets there himself that it is just fine. When I lay him in bed, he immediately uses the slats in the crib to help turn himself over to sleep. He looks pretty sweet sleeping that way.
• He continues to be a pretty easy-going, laid back baby for the most part. He has a good balance of wanting to be with us with an ability to play independently for short periods of time on the floor with his toys or in his exersaucer.
• We love him more than we can say.

I finally broke down and went to Wash Park with the stroller and Leo. Luckily there were only a couple other dogs since it was the middle of the day and Leo had no problems. Now he's taking a nice nap with George so it was worth it!

Loving the swing (the dirtiest swing I've ever seen - gross)... I'm sure this next month will continue to bring exciting milestones for our George!

Together Again...

Today George and I got to hang out with our friends Karla and Grace. George has gotten to hang around with quite a few babies this past week and it's so fun to see how much he interacts with other babies now. Grace continues to be quite the model baby for photographs, smiling perfectly as soon as a camera is brought out, even looking back and forth at both cameras to make sure we each got a good shot of her! George was not so interested in smiling for the camera although there were a few pretty cute shots from our visit:

This is George's new favorite thing: to stick out his tongue. He's been doing it almost non-stop for the past two days. We had a great time visiting Karla and Grace, it's so fun to see how much they have grown already! I bet the next time we see each other, there will be some serious baby-proofing needed. It won't be long now until these two take off crawling!

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter today, even though it was cold and rainy here. We went to church with my parents and then headed back to our house for brunch. At our church, the priest blesses all the kids' Easter baskets before sending them outside for the egg hunt. Here's Sean and George after getting his basket blessed:

Nothing In Particular

I don't have anything major to post, but I have taken a few cute pictures of George the past couple days so I thought I'd share.

or a job interview.Here's our little roly poly when I went to get him out of bed this morning. He was so happy playing on his tummy. He's been rolling over quite a bit in bed the past several nights. I've never seen him actually roll, but I see the results!It was so nice out today so G and I stopped at Confluence Park after making a quick stop at REI.

We just got back from meeting baby Zoe Thomas - she is so beautiful! It's hard to believe George was ever so new and fragile and light. I feel like he was a newborn for about 10 minutes and now 6 months have gone by. They've been the best 6 months of my life!

Our Iowa Weekend

The O'Reillys spent a long weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for my cousin Jason's wedding. Sean and I drove out on Thursday and my parents had plane tickets, so they took George on the plane with them. We figured he would have a much better day spending it with a lot of family than stuck in his car seat for 12 hours. According to my mom, we were right... he had a great day and didn't even cry until bedtime.
The wedding was so much fun. Here are some pictures from our weekend:

At my aunt and uncle's house...Taking his first bath in a sink at Josh's house...The bride and groom are big bike riders and rode away on a bike built for two...My cousins converted a school bus to a "party" bus that they rent out to people for special occasions and after the wedding the wedding party rode the bus to the reception. The four of us were invited to ride along, it was my favorite part of the day - I had so much fun! My cousins...George and Isaac, my cousin's son. The boys are only 3 weeks apart in age. (This weekend has proven to me how much disposable diapers fail to work at all. I don't think a single outfit survived being worn without being a victim of a leaky diaper or blowout. I missed G's big cloth diapered toosh). Thanks to Huggies for ruining this picture...

We had such a great time. George did make the drive home with us today and did such a good job. He was such a trooper the whole way home. We made it to Denver and had to drop a suitcase off at my parents. While he made it the entire 700 miles home without getting upset, every minute of the ride between my parents house and our house was filled with screams. He just could not put up with it anymore!! :)
