Egg Drop

Note: Obviously, something about posting a video today made it impossible for me to determine where this writing ended up.  Sorry.

This morning, we went down to Castle Rock with Rhonda, Luke, and Big Anne (my aunt) to try out their big "Egg Drop."  On the football field of the high school, there were hundreds and hundreds of eggs (hundreds of kids, too) and to top it off... a helicopter passed by six times, dropping even more eggs each time it passed!  It was exciting for all the kids, even though once or twice would have been enough, there was a long wait in between fly-overs :)

Here's a video of the helicopter's first fly-over.  If you listen carefully, you can hear Sean make an off-color joke at the expense of the man who dropped the eggs a little early :)

When the kids could finally get the eggs, it was a giant swarm of people that was hard for anyone to navigate, especially a one year-old.  So Gus took his time, wandered, but carried his basket the whole time.

Finally some eggs!  Those in the background lasted about 20 seconds after this picture was taken.

 George finally "got it" this year, and picked up as many eggs as he could.  Last year, we did something like this (without the helicopter), and George picked up the two eggs right in front of him and stopped.  This year was a little more exciting to watch.

When we were done with the egg hunt, George wanted to watch the high schoolers play baseball on the next field...

We had a lot of fun and look forward to Easter next weekend!
