Better late than never, right? It's now Thursday of Spring Break and I'm finally getting around to posting pictures from Gus' birthday in January/February. Yikes! Oh well.
Gus was super excited for his big day and pretty much wanted everything Rescue Bots, which is exactly what he got. As usual, big brother watched with only centimeters separating him from Gus' new toys :)
This is Gus saying, "Cool!"
This was taken before our Broncos were (really badly) beaten in the Superbowl.
Gus wanted a superhero birthday party, so this was a generic theme with lots of nothing in particular except blue, yellow and red everything.
There were 15 kids in the house for the party and they all had a lot of fun. I'm so glad I didn't put together any organized activities, because as soon as they come in the door they just want to explore and play with the boys' toys, which is fine with me!
Gus is a wonderful, loving, funny, stubborn, cuddly, brave boy.
- He loves his brother more than anything and will do anything George does. They are each other's best friend and worst enemy, sometimes only seconds apart from each other. I hear Gus say quite a bit, "George, you say sorry to me!"
- He is outgoing with almost everyone and loves talking to other kids. At George's tae kwon do lessons, there's a little sister there that Guswent right up to and asked her name. After she told him he said, "Emma, you're a princess."
- He can be so stubborn! He often reminds us of Brad Pitt's character in a River Runs Through It when the little Brad Pitt refuses to eat his oatmeal for hours. That's Gus.
- He hates to get in trouble. Hates it. He will run as fast as he can in the other direction until he reaches a wall and will stand with his back to you and cry.
- He likes to say, "Oopsie Spaghetti-Os" instead of "Uh-oh."
- He is a horrible eater and we have to force him to eat anything of substance at most meals. It's a wonder he is growing at all.
- He loves for me or Sean to sit in the rocking chair next to him until he falls asleep: "Mommy, you sit by me for five minutes."
He's our sweet, sweet little August. Happy birthday, buddy!
