Our Day with Isabelle

My good friend Michelle used to teach 4th grade with me and we decided we could watch each other's baby a day or two a week to let the other get another day of subbing in at our old school. Today was Michelle's first day of subbing so we got to spend the day with Belle! We had a practice playdate yesterday for a few hours and she was here all day today and it went very well... considering. The biggest challenges for me were getting Belle to take a nap and getting George to learn how to share (both toys and me!).
Even though Belle had a hard time taking a nap in new surroundings, she was so sweet all day long and had lots of smiles to share. She and George really like each other and George can't wait until she can play catch with him. As long as they both had a wisk, everything was fine. George did take many toys right out of her hands, but she started to hang on tight enough to keep that bully away!

Out for a walk with our double stroller from Craigslist... It really was a good day - both kids are so sweet and I can tell they are going to be good friends when the playing field is a little more even :) I just have to help George understand the following phrases:

-"Be gentle."

-"Belle is playing with that, you need to play with something else."

-"Let me finish feeding Belle, then I'll pick you up."

-"Stop screaming!" (this had a direct impact on poor Belle's napping, I'm afraid.)
